Achievements crashing the game

I can't say with 100% certainty, but since it's happened twice in the same way, at the exact moment that the FF16 achievement notification appears, the game not only crashes, but Windows is also unresponsive. No matter how long I wait, the game only really comes back if I close it and open it again.
