I understand that the Hydra catalogue is just a mirror of Steam’s library. But this is confusing because when you search for a game on hydra.wiki, it shows all results from sources, including many non-Steam games. So it’s common for a game found there to not appear when searching Hydra itself, even when you add the source it’s from. I think you can install such games by copying the magnet link directly into Hydra, but this is a clunky process.
It would be really cool if there was an “extended search” option that would show the same results as on hydra.wiki, pulling data directly from the download sources you have added. This might lead to more “junk” results or not support the cover art and other metadata from Steam, but it would make finding and installing games, especially older or non-Steam games, much easier.
