Suggestion: Manual Achievement Check-Off System (Launcher-Level)

Currently, not all achievements are unlockable because achievement support depends on each individual game. Even when all in-game objectives are completed, achievements may not update or unlock properly in the launcher.

I’d like to suggest adding a manual achievement check-off system within the launcher itself. This would allow users to mark achievements as completed when the game does not properly report them.

To prevent abuse and keep achievement integrity intact:

  • Manually unlocked achievements would be flagged (e.g. “Manually Verified”)

  • These achievements would not grant points, XP, or progression

  • Only achievements unlocked normally by the game would count toward totals, stats, or rewards

This would allow:

  • 100% completion visibility for all games, even those without full achievement support

  • Clear distinction between legitimate and manually checked achievements

  • A fair system that avoids leaderboard/stat inflation

An extension to this would be the use of a symbol, similar to the one used for hidden achievements. This symbol could indicate manually unlocked achievements, allowing users to differentiate them from those earned naturally through the game. Achievements marked with this symbol would have no associated points but would still be tracked within the launcher. This helps maintain transparency without undermining the integrity of the achievement system.

The idea is similar in concept to Steam Achievement Manager, but implemented cleanly at a launcher level, with transparency and no competitive advantage.

This would greatly improve completion tracking and user satisfaction while keeping the achievement system fair and meaningful.
